Cardiff University Broadband Project

The Welsh Economy Research Unit (WERU) of Cardiff Business School have been interviewing small and medium sized businesses in Wales to better understand their engagement and use of ‘Superfast’ broadband services. Cardiff University is providing key research to inform and assist the Welsh Government programme, backed by the European Regional Development Fund. The government programme will support businesses, in order to maximise opportunities of ‘Superfast’ broadband infrastructure.

What is the Welsh Government Programme?

Superfast Business Wales – a fully funded business support service to help you get the most out of digital technology and superfast broadband, delivered by the Welsh Government.

The purpose of this research is to gain a better understanding of how companies use and need ‘Superfast’ broadband. It will also show how companies can make more innovative use of the opportunities presented by reliable and high capacity broadband access. Most importantly, this research will show us how companies have benefited and developed through the use of the Superfast Business Wales scheme.
