In 2019 EE will be launching 5G in 16 different UK Cities! CARDIFF is among the 16 Cities to cover the busiest parts of cities, including London’s Hyde Park, Manchester Airport, Edinburgh Waverley train station, Belfast City Airport, The Welsh Assembly and Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre

It’s not going to be just smartphones…. EE are also launching a 5G Home router for 5G broadband! It’s going to be 5G MAD!!!!

What will this mean to Cardiff- SUPER SPEEDY Connection!

5G is the fifth generation of mobile networks.

The mobile networks are used to make calls, send texts and get online, when you're not connected to Wi-Fi.

First generation networks, which were introduced in the 1980s, could only carry voice, whereas 2G brought with it the text and picture messages.

Third generation networks, or 3G, offered video calling and mobile data, while 4G saw this improved to support mobile internet usage and higher speeds so you could stream videos and play games online.

5G is set to be FASTER AGAIN.

According to 5G.co.uk, you'll be able to theoretically reach download speeds of 10GBps. That's the equivalent of downloading (not streaming) a full HD movie in roughly between 4-40 seconds.
